Bartleby’s Homemade Ice Cream opened with a focus on high quality ingredients, creative collaborations, sustainable practices and community engagement. Nowhere Collective’s founder, Katy, worked with piinkiink studio to design a playful, intentional, creative space for folks of all ages to enjoy their scoops.
While piinkiink led the branding design and graphic elements, Katy concepted three art installations to infuse this fun personality in the main areas of the establishment.
For the three art peices, Sprinkles, Drips and Scoops, Katy sourced all materials secondhand, from local resale stores, Buy Nothing groups and even the alleys of Chicago. In addition, Katy worked with local carpenters and refinishers to transform reclaimed church pews and a found dresser into large functional furniture pieces that ground the art to the space.
Since opening day, these spaces continue to be lovely backdrops for memories made over a delicious bites of homemade ice cream.
